Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is an Mexican American Sportscaster. She currently works for ESPN as a reporter for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. She was hired by ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter of the TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual since the age of nine years old. It was a helpful talent that enabled her to get her first job as a production assistant for Univision in Miami which allowed her to be a part of the production team for national shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. The next position she was offered was an Sports Reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. Her move to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to work as a reporter on KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish channels KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. Covering stories related to drugs and immigration issues from both sides of the Mexico-Texas border, she was an anchor for KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5 pm. She was an anchor for the news channel with a news anchor in English until 9pm, the news anchor was on until 10 pm, and then returned on channel Spanish channel. She would also fill in on occasion as a weather and sports anchor. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate where she took on more responsibilities. She produced pieces about MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Apart from that she also co-hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She has been promoted to anchor the sports segment on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In the same capacity on the magazine program of the network Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born in Veracruz, Mexico. The girl was born on November 22nd the 22nd of November, 1984 in Mexico City. She is the elder sibling of her parents. She is the older sister. They divorced shortly thereafter and in 1995 her mother was remarried to an architect from the naval profession called Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. It was on a holiday in the summer that she lived with her sister living in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured the job. Antonietta was a senior high school student, but she was very aware of her goals for the future. She went to Mount Union University to determine if they suited her. The result was that she enjoyed the university as well as the fact that it offered the major she wanted. Following her graduation from high school, she decided to enroll at the university to pursue a degree in Media Studies. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was part of her class, developed an ongoing relationship with the student. The passion he had for journalism as well as her self-confidence encouraged her. She in turn was determined to achieve his standards and not let him down.
